Gray + Brown Wedding

After months of prep work my very good friend Kerry-Lee Gray married her prince. She wanted a non-traditional, vintage inspired wedding. It was to be unique and creative - just like her wonderful self. Everything was to be handmade, or what I like to refer to as ``Found``. Alot of the stuff which was used was either bought at garage sales, thrift stores, borrowed or made. Lace table cloths, mason jars and wild flowers were spread around the tables and yard while hay bales with vintage sheets were used for seating during the ceremony. To top it all off there was a home-made dance floor complete with twinkle lights.

From the hearts for `love notes` to the fascinator worn by the beautiful bride us girls were busy crafting. Here are a few pieces that I made and would like to share with you.

The first piece is a flag style card sign in which Kerry wanted to drape across her suitcase. We started with patterned paper. She chose a color which she liked so I cut out 5 triangles in the same size.

We hot glued a piece of twine to the back of the triangles to link them together - leaving a few inches at either end to tie it to the suitcase.

We chose different patterned papers for the letters and cut them out, then glued them to the triangles

Voila! The end product.

Here is another project I made for the beautiful bride.

Kerry wanted a fascinator but couldn't find one she liked. So we made it, she bought the feathers, a premade flower (which I took apart) and a broach a girlfriend found.

I had some left over fabric from a previous art project that matched Kerrys colors, So I cut a big round piece of fabric out and stitched the outside, eventually pulling it together to make it look like a bag. Sorry I don't have a picture. I then played with the fabric again to make this shape.

I had took the pre-made flower apart to get the lace pieces off and sewed them to the back of the hair piece

I used heavy duty glue to place the broach on. I chose a few feathers to add to the back of the fascinator, then gluing a piece of felt to the back to hide all the stitches and secure everything. I also hot glued a few snaps to the back so that way she could remove the bird cage veil with attached.

I do not have an end picture because I was a slacker and a huge procrastinator....but here is a lovely pic of the beautiful couple.

I will be adding more pictures of here beautiful wedding and smaller details....I am no photographer so I apologize in advance for them not being super fantastic.
